Shijie Wang

I am a Research Fellow at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, working with Prof. Zi (Helen) Huang and Prof. Scott Chapman. My research focuses on computer vision and multimodal foundation models, with particular interests in fine-grained recognition and retrieval, vision-language learning, and efficient image/video understanding.

I received my Ph.D. from Dalian University of Technology, advised by Prof. Haojie Li. I previously obtained my B.E. and M.S. degrees from the School of Software at the same university. During my doctoral studies, I was mentored by Prof. Qi Tian during my internship at Huawei Cloud, and by Prof. Wanli Ouyang at The University of Sydney.
